Template:Tobedeleted Transformers Universe is likened to some as a "late G2". This is due to the fact the line consisted of nothing but repaints (similar to how G2 started) and at times garish paint jobs. Using molds spanning from as far back as Late G1, the line would constantly be panned by the fans. At worst, Universe is seen as a cheap attempt by Hasbro to milk money from existing molds. At best, fans appreciated it for the chance to get figures they missed the first time around, and sometimes in colors that actually out-shined the originals.
